About

James Machell is a British writer, born in London and matured in Seoul. He is a contributor to the Encyclopedia of Science Fiction and the outreach manager for Utopia Science Fiction Magazine for which he gets to interview his favourite writers and artists, including P. Djèlí Clark, Ken Liu, and Samuel R. Delany. He will also be the contest chair for the Science Fiction & Fantasy Poetry Association’s awards for 2025.

His own work has appeared in numerous venues, including Sci Phi Journal, Star*Line, and Every Day Fiction. He views literature as a collaborative process and enjoys giving detailed feedback as much as receiving it.
